Just picked this up. Identity of aircraft is unknown but back in 2014 I had a similar piece so I was able to confirm it as B-17.
As it has silver paint I assume it is a B-17G.

The blue and white mark is the original star and bars - horizontal bar.

As it has remains of a DRAIN stencil - I assume starboard outer lower wing.
Alcoa markings on corrugated section.

Thanks. Attached an image of where I think it was situated. I checked the dimensions and the blue edging is exactly the right dimensions for the bar and stars. So an underwing fuel drain is perfect fitting.
