The Problum is that B-24 was used not just by the US Army Air Corps; but also by the RAF as well...
Then there were cases of planes which had to be abandoned in the air ...
Any gussus as to whom this plane belong to? For example any Bomber Airfields near where it was found?

There is the possibilty that the crew abondoned the plane and last saw it go out to sea...the B-24 Lady be Good flew for (16 miles) before crash-landing in the Libyan desert after being abondoned by its crew when it ran out of gas!

Note a "Snorkel Parka" was among the debris

Although the Snorkel Parka was made in 1958...there was a there was a B-9 parka that was made in 1943....so apparently the plane crashed 1943-1945....hope this is helpful
