This isn't something I've ever done before and thought I'd like to share it with you guys.

On one of the longer re-postioning flights between City Tour stops, I was very fortunate as a crew member, to have the chance to get some stick time in on Witchcraft (the cockpit is off limits to the public, although during the Flight Experiences, they can stand at the door and look in)

Its a bit shakey at the start but soon settles down. And huge thanks to Jim for picking my go-pro up when I removed it for a piccie and for getting the shot of 'Stu flying off my wing in 'Betty Jane', and to Whit for keeping an eye on me to make sure I didn't do anything daft.

So, whats she like to fly ?...she's a real 'Babe. Quite heavy in pitch but very light in roll, with a great view forward and to the side but you cant see diddlysquat over your shoulder or behind, thats where you rely on the Flight Engineer to sit up topsides in front of the upper gun turret to act as your eyes above and behind.

I felt extremely humbled to be at the controls of the only airworthy B-24 Liberator and its left me with some memories that not only enforce my admiration for the youngsters that went to work and sometimes didn't come back in these incredible machines, but also to the many veterans I met while on the Tour. God bless 'em all !

Now I really hate you Gary! :)

At least an engine didn't catch fire when you were flying her like happened with my dad the one time a pilot let him fly a B-24. Have to tell you that one some time, it was one of his better war stories.
