Beaufighters!

    I found a film - about 90 mins long, that has some excellent footage of Beaufighters flown by the Australians in the PTO.
    It also explains the importance of a battle I had not been aware of - Milne Bay and also the RAAF Kittyhawks and their importance in the PTO.

    I wonder if Beaufighter aircrew got nose bleeds if they went above a thousand feet :lol:

    Milne Bay was significant for a number of reasons. it prevented outflnking of Port Moresby. It was the first time a japanese amphibious ssault that had gotten ashore was defeated (perhaps Wake island might also claim this). It was the first occasion that the Beafighter was used in the PNG TO operationally (I think)

    It looks like the Beaufighters were out collecting as much firewood as they could in their engine nacelles!
