The Bristol Brigand was originally designed as a torpedo bomber but re-engineered as a multi-role strike aircraft. Three RAF squadrons used the Brigand, and a single aircraft was delivered to Pakistan.
The Brigand entered service in 1946 and was well liked by it's pilots, but the combat experience in Malaya and elsewhere showed up some design flaws, and it was quickly withdrawn.
The Brigand was armed with 4 x 20mm cannon with various combinations of bombs and rockets up to 2,000 lb.
