Hello everyone,

A friend of mine who has a boat caught a Bristol Hercules XVI engine in his nets last week. I am now looking to identify which aircraft the engine belongs to. I have a picture of the label with the serial number on it. Anyone who can help me?
Thanks in advance!

A quick search came back with this:
Handley Page Halifax:
The Hercules XVI was the primary engine for the Halifax Mk III and Mk VII bomber variants.

Bristol Beaufighter:
The Beaufighter, a versatile aircraft used as a night-fighter, fighter-bomber, and torpedo bomber, also utilized the Hercules XVI engine.

Other Aircraft:
The Hercules engine family (including the XVI) also powered other aircraft, such as the Short Stirling, Vickers Wellington, and Avro Lancaster.
