Spent several hours riding in the T-29 version. Seemed hopelessly slow at the time, but we should have considered it a real treat. Two R-2800's outside the windows! Super cool!
Interesting fact about the C-131/T-29. It was the first selection for the Puff the Magic Dragon mission. But it had integral fuel tanks that did not react well to all that hammering gunfire and sprung leaks, unlike the C-47's old style construction with fuel cells.
