Can anybody identify this aircraft tyre?

I have this tyre now for over 40 years.
Always thought it was from a Horsa Glider, however i'm not sure.
Does anybody recognize it?

I agree with Airframes - the wheel definitely looks well post war.

The AM crows foot and 27A3698 both indicate British Air Ministry. Have a look around the tyre for a "stamped" in production date like modern tyres have. I do not know when the production date was added, that could have been at any time.
 
Goodyear military tread during WW2 was typically diamond pattern. This looks like post war rib.
