Hi
I'm new to the forum and have just purchased this part on eBay. The guy I bought it off said he got it from a dealer at one of the duxford events who said it was off a spitfire, but could not remember where abouts on the aircraft he said it came from as it was some time ago. Anyway I bought it for not a lot of money and just want to try and find out what it is? Even if it isn't off a spitfire I'd still like to know.
It has the numbers -
780211 on big round face
780201 on screw collar
Any help would be appreciated

Hello and welcome to the forum, T.A.F.

Darryl is a good friend and colleague of the forum who has a thread in which he is replicating a Spit cockpit, scale 1: 1, it is likely that he can support you or he will know who to contact. You find him as Tony Hill and his thread is in the Modeling -> Start to Finish Builds section.
I hope you identify that piece.

Thank you for that info SANCER.
I will send him a message.
Regards.

G'day.

Nice piece. Whilst I am not very familiar with parts outside the cockpit area, I can tell you that the numbers don't look very "Spitfireish", to me at least.

What you have, I think, is something similar to this...a wingtip navigation light or similar.

Perhaps asking at the Warbird exchange site, or maybe the Keypublishing Historical Aircraft site may garner better results...sorry I can't be more specific on the part!

Thanks for that info. Yes it does look similar to that il have to do a bit more research.
