Hi Max! Very nice build (IMHO)!
I saw this model (I believe the latest re-boxing of it) in the local hobby store for a fair price and was tempted to buy it but was not sure how good the model is. Is it an easy build or more of a PITA-type? ;)
When I mean easy I think of the older type models (Airfix, Monogram, Frog) with all their good and bad sides, not of some modern "shake and bake" :) products.
Cheers!

Actually, I thought it was OK to build. The landing gear took some figuring out but in the end it was OK. Thank goodness for the internet. I was able to check out camo patterns, the interior arrangement and the wacky upper turret. The detail was better than I expected.

Tank you very much for the response. When looking at your box I understood I made a mistake: the model I saw and mentioned before was the "Bideriva":

Nevertheless it's basically the same model and good to see the parts in the box before finishing the model as you show them.
Looking at the number of parts and how they are arranged on the sprues, it's very much the Heller/Airfix type of model. I'm trying to build an old Heller/Smer LeO 451 at the moment and it's pretty similar. I got lost in the re-scribing of the panel lines though.
Somebody started the 2-tailed version here in the forum, but unfortunately didn't show any progress photos.
That turret is pretty crazy I agree - I was really thinking these are 2 guns shooting in opposite directions. o_O
Cheers!

Just a wee bit about the turret, it was a Caproni Lanciani Delta Type E turret, or Toretto dorsale Tipo E, which the gun was manually elevated, but rotation in azimuth might have (I've seen different versions of this in that it might have been powered in azimuth, but also that it was completely manual in operation) been powered, like the Breda V turret, which had an electric motor driving the turret in azimuth. The balancing arm assisted in rotation as the slipstream acting on the gun tended to provide resistance to its rotation, so a counter arm was placed directionally opposite to the gun barrel to provide a wind vane operating in the opposite sense to the airflow direction, being connected to the gun mechanism to match its elevation. The gun was either a 12.7 mm (50 cal) Scotti or Breda-SAFAT MG.

Correction, the turret was manually rotated and was not power assisted.

You can see that the kit is designed to be either the twin-tailed version or the single one. From what I've seen , both saw war service.
