I've skimmed through the pages, seem like a decent job overall. Minor nitpick - no point in comparing the R-2800 power with far smaller V-1710 or Merlin.
Thanks John, gives me a good reason to visit my cousin on Long Island, once hurricane season is well past. In fact, I think I'll wait until spring when its warmer.

Fair comment Tomo.
I don't think even the Merlin could have shifted the 'Jug's' bulk as well as the R2800.
I'm amazed that a fighter so large could be so devastingly good.
There was a TV programme about Gabby and the P47 that opened my eyes.
Cheers

As a matter of fact, my wife has informed me that our son will have his 6th year Birthday Party there. Anyone in the neighborhood is welcome as a guest. Dec 1st I believe.
So strong as well. What other aeroplane could bounce off the ground , continue to fly and get the pilot home to fight another day?
Seriously impressive.
Cheers
John
