I picked this thing up probably around the time it was released in the mid 90's, when it came time to paint it things didn't go so well unfortunately,

After I cleaned it up to this point it went back in the box until just recently

I got inspired to pull it back out and finish cleaning it up and then to finish it off

Interestingly with the same jars of paint I started on it with

I have this kit and the D4Y1` kit, as well, but have yet to begin construction(even a modeller can, at times, reach a point where it seems like there are too many irons in the fire), and have been curious as to anyone else building it, and you have gone a bit to satisfy curiosity. I do like the looks of the Atsuta powered versions, as opposed to the later Kinsei powered model. She looks a lot sexier with the inline engine.

I wouldn't mind building the Kinsei version myself at some point. The kit goes together very well but the one issue I found was that the opening under the windscreen was a bit large and left a gap so I filled it in with a bit of plasticard.

Very nice. A pretty model of a very lovely lady.

I have a couple of these kits, too, the -1 and -2 Judys(Judies?), and had thought to take a crack at a simple diorama, one on the ramp, the other a nearby getting torn down a bit(engine overhaul.).
