Hi all i'd like to join in the group build with this b-25D not done any competitive building before but a deadline might help me finish a model off completely.

Welcome again Bruce, and a great choice of subject and kit. The Italeri/Accurate Miniatures B25 kit is a real beaut, and I was going to do a RAF Mitchell II with it, until I 'acquired' a Revell 'J', so I'll hopefully be joining you with a RAF Mitchell III.

Hi all, just posting an update on my build, been fairly busy on it the last couple of days making a bomber is little bit tougher than i thought!Hopefully the build gets easier from here.I've found out that the aircraft was flown by 2ND LT Allan.w.lay and that the B-25 was shot down on the 2ND of September 1944 by two zeros while he was providing top cover on a raid against a Japanese ship Itsukushima. He was not the only one lost on the raid another b-25 "Mexican Spitfire" was lost as well. Thanks to Ozhawk for the drawing of Hells fire i also found this in a reference. (aircraft in action No 34 by squadron.)
