Many thanks for that. Interesting to see the wing mounted radar antenna in your first picture has been censored out yet it is in picture #3. Very cool photos.

Great choice Jeff, and it's a nice kit overall. Tamiya even reproduced the Battle Damage Repair practice patches found on their 'pattern' aircraft, on the wings !

Yep. It was generally standard practice to cover gun apertures with red-doped fabric patches, to prevent the ingress of dirt and dust, and the reduce the possibility of 'Cold Damp' (icing) in the barrels at altitude. Some were neater than others, whilst some looked like a whole sheet of fabric had been quickly slapped in place !

Lovely choice Jeff, the old Beau was a lovely aircraft and you wont have much trouble with that Tamiya kit.

    Jeff.
Tamiya moulded the elevator trim actuators as triangle lumps of plastic on the top surface, they should be under Meath !

    Here's what I did with mine !

Agreed. Not too bad. :) Especially the detail is omitted by almost all.

And here the same detail seen on the tail with the dihedral.

Construction is underway and the cockpit section, short of a couple of minor touchups is ready to be put into place within the fuselage.
