This plane was received from the factory No.22 and on December 1st, 1942 it was taken on charge by 746th AP DD (Aviatsionniy Polk Dal'nego Deystwiya - long-range air regiment). At the beginning of March 1943 it got tactical number '4'. Plane's commanders: A. Peregudov (January-March 1943), later S.Sugak. Beginning with April 1943 till June 28, 1943 when it was shot down over Bobruisk, S.Sugak made 39 sorties with this machine. And the first two he shared with navigator K.lkonnikov (April 14 and 16 - missions on Danzig).
The plane carried three-tone camouflage on the upper surfaces consisted of areas of green, black and light-brown areas with irregular shape. All undersides were light blue. Red stars were in six positions - both sides of tail, fuselage and wings undersides. At first it had no white outline. It appeared later and was hand-made (by wide brush). During the last flights the paint was well-worn.
