Bf109G-2a 'White A' : Cpt.Av. Constantin 'Bazu' Cantacuzino Aircraft in Foreign Service WWII GB
User Name : Wayne Little
Category : Non Competing Judge
Entry : Romanian marked German Bf109G-2
Kit : Revell Boxed (Ex-Hasegawa) 1/32 Bf109G-4
Time to kick off the new Group Build, wanted an opportunity to get stuck into this one (and another to appear shortly).
Capitan Aviator Constantin 'Bazu' Cantacuzino was Romania's top scoring Ace with 56 Victories.
Most of which were scored against Russian aircraft as is depicted on this particular aircraft, later Cantacuzino would also claim some American and German victories on Home defence duties.
The aircraft is depicted during June 1944 when the tail of his aircraft carried 42 Russian Victories. During this period he was flying a Romanian marked Bf109G, the aircraft was assembled in Romania from components supplied from Germany and designated as a Bf109G-2a, the bump visible on the port wing for the larger main wheels indicate it as a late G-2 or G-4.
