This has turned into Two entries, this one being the second, Carl Davidson's regular mount, plane number 11.
I'm getting rather confused when trying to post build pictures keeping each separated, bot in the forum and in my own head.
This aircraft was damaged and not serviceable after a hard landing resulting in his flying number 9 on his last flight.
I will be building this as damaged and truly scavenged for spare parts.
Kit is the same, no extra detail parts, and I'm using these as models for the build, of which 211-F-11 is among them.
Destruction has already started.

Bill are you sure that's the F4F-3 in the pic below? I would say it's a F4F-4 judging by the number of holes for the MG barrels in the wing.

Well a bit more sawing trimming and filing.
Cut off the doors for the liferaft compartment just behind the pilot and antenna.
Had to fab a floor and bulkheads.
More sawing to come!

Thanks guys..........
This beating up a kit is verrrrry laborous.
Didn't think I would be spending this much time onnit.
More cutting, filing and gluing.

What I've done to thin the strips used in the cowl, took a while to work out.
A block of acrylic I drilled two holes to match an aluminum tube.
The steel scale has a hole in one end, a tube in the block will stop the ruler from moving.
A second hole at the side will hold it steady as you push the file across the strip against the rule.
