Super easy compared to Gimp. I only use Gimp when I make my own decals. Paint.net uses Raster graphics but is really easy and fast for editing photos. I use IrfanView to sort out which photos I want to keep. The biggest plus for me using this program is that you can scroll through all you photos, going back and forth deciding which to keep and which to chuck. I usually take 2-3 photos of the same subject so I'm sure I have a keeper. Using IrfanView I can go through 20 photos and keep 5 in less than a minutes. Then onto Paint.net to edit; just to resize and occasionally play with the brightness/contrast

Cool, thanks I will definitely check them out. I'm not very adept with GIMP, kind of find it a pain in the ass.

Well I have to admit I'm blown away ! The cockpit set is amazing for detail. First time I've ever splurged on something like this being the cheap bastard I am, I'm almost afraid to do anything to it !

Well it's a start. I have to admit, some of the PE stuff in this scale is a bit gimmicky so a couple of items will be probably deleted since they are so small it's almost impossible to even pick them up with anything ! The belt harness alone is 5 different pieces and a real challenge to put together, I think I need stronger glasses or switch up a scale !

Fiddly but very nice. Even for 1:48 I use drug store +3.75 reading glasses. Normal life is +1.75, but I find it easier to model with the higher power ones. Any finer work and I slap on the visor. I never use the extra lens or the loupe as I find it very hard to work 4" from my face

I have to use the readers as well. I started out as a kid with Monogram 1:48 scale but ran out of kits to build and there was always lots of 1:72 scale kits so when I set out to build all the WW2 RAF planes I could that was the game. When I got back into the hobby 20 years or so ago I wanted to build Luftwaffe planes so kept with 1:72 scale. Lots of kits, cheap and don't take up much room........well except for the Me 321. Definitely getting harder on the old eyeballs though !!

Great choice Graham!

Was considering same (as an Austrian bird), but they only got theirs in 1988, outside the build timeframe.

On the Hasegawa kit, there's a slight step where the outer wings join, by the way. Unless you want to fix/ ignore it, Aires do a set of replacement resin items. Master also make minute brass pitots etc too if you want to go crazy :)
