So a decent start made already into the sub assemblies that seemed manageable for priming before I put them together.

This is a simple kit and a bit of a trip down memory lane as one of this kit was my first ever Japanese prototype aircraft model.

I will be taping those fuselage halves together to allow the cockpit area to dry in the correct orientation

Thank you all :)

The kit instructions called for Metallic Blue for the interior but looking at the 2 preserved examples they have a variation of interior green, figuring the one on display in a museum in Japan should be correct I have opted for this same colour.

The instrument panel is silver though as per the instructions and the photos of the one in the states show

So next it was onto the fuselage close up and wing attaching followed by the engine and cowling.

The vertical stabiliser is a separate part so that was "fun" to try and keep level but I am pleased with my progress so far!

Thank you, I had forgotten just how simple a kit it is a nice pallet cleanser in many ways :)

Putting a bit of sprue in to allow the rear facing machine gun to be mounted - there is one included but no mention of it in the instructions!

Doing great and very fast. Funny about the "Aotake" interior colours. In the way back when, every Japanese aircraft interiors were painted with this colour. Suddenly, along come research and the internet and you are hard pressed to find a place to spray Metallic Blue anymore......I have three bottles.
