After much deliberation I've chosen this one from the stash. The Euro fighter Typhoon I was contemplating is a far more involved build and at the moment I'm not confident I'd finish it in time.

So I have plumped for this kit which looks quite nice in the box and has lots of detail for 1/72 scale. There is the option to display the canon bays open and a choice of bombs or rockets. I have opted to do the box top scheme with a sharks mouth which is quite unusual for the Tyffie.

I have the Aviaelogy decal set but in 1/48. The narrative description is excellent so if you have any questions about the scheme just shout.
Thanks Andy. The Airfix decals have no infill for the shark mouth but the artwork shows it as being red so I'm a bit unclear about which is correct.

So plastic has been cut, and I'm underway. Small start but it's a beginning. A couple of sub assemblies for the innards. I'll be doing some painting later.

First picture is the seat assembly with the IP and gunsight and the foot rests and rudder pedals which are over the undercarriage bays. Last pic is the wing cut out to expose the cannons. Took a bit of time carefully removing the panels as the plastic isn't thinned behind the upper wing half.

Onwards and upwards! 😃

Thanks for all your comments 😃. Got some bench time this morning. Innards are painted and the fiddly photo etch belts have been wrestled into position. I'm currently waiting on all the glue setting prior to joining the fuselage. Fingers crossed 🤞.
