    Darn it! Looks like I've forgotten some pretty important dates from 1940 like Eagle Day, August 13, 1940, when the Germans began their effort to destroy the Royal Air Force, flying 1,485 sorties and Britain flying around 787, with 34 German and 13 British aircraft lost. Also forgot about June 18, the first night raid over Britain, and July 1, the first daylight raid.
