Actually it is not PZL P-11 but PZL P-7a. Also it is not "Nr 37" The black underwing number seen in the pic is 371 and it is a part of the police code. The second part ( usually a letter ) of the code was applied on the port wing underside. In the case it was the letter "K". So the black code was 371-K.
The overpainted number ( 1 ) and the emblem of the 123rd Fighter Squadron indicate the kite belonged to the Pursuit Brigade defending Warsaw in 1939. The aircraft was flown by the Pilot Officer Władysław Bożek at the airfield Bełżyce. The P-7 plane was damaged on the 7th September 1939 while landing at night.
