Does anyone know if Łoś is pronounced "woss" or "woosh"? A colleague used to say "woosh", which sounded like it was ironic rather than grammatically correct.

Wow! Thanks: it does indeed seem to be "woosh"!!!

Actually there is no equivalent of the Polish "ł" and "ś" in the English but the "woosh" sounds quite close.
