Dear all, an entire engine of a Fw 190A has been recently found in the Czech Republic (the location is obviously not known:). This aircraft may have been shot down in the battle on August 24, 1944. Some pictures (and text in Czech only) available at

Filip it is not a working link, please try again

E ~ this date 14 SturmFw's from IV.Sturm/JG 3 and II.Sturm/JG 300 attacked B-24 formations. JG 300 Sturms some of the first useage of the new EZ 40 gun-sight which took terrible toll of the Liberators.

I am assuming it is one of the Fw casualties from JG 300 which has been found as JG 3 only lost 1 Fw.

    EXCELLENT V2

now would it be too hard for you to translate, as if the engine is found so would be the upper nose mg 131's if they were installed and maybe some armor plate, etc.........

Erich ~ and yes it is one of the SturmFw 190's
