Planning a Light Utility Car,10hp done as an BOB era RAF bomb disposal vehicle. Looking for the RAF Blue Grey, 633. Hataka B145 allegedly fits the bill, but looks way too dark to me. One reference gives RLM 66 as an alternate. That is super dark grey/ black, no? (Arcus has one but not had real good results with their quality. MPR(?) has one, but I dont do lacquer. White Ensign had the color. Course they are long gone. Soverign, dunno if they resurected this one from WE, but importing from the UK these days would probably be $50 just for shipping .. via RMS … and tariffs ) Other ones I've seen are the blue grey for uniforms or the post war blue. Any ideas?

Here you can find the equivalents for the BS 381C 633 RAF Blue Grey paint. I would follow the Humbrol 32, 112, 243 or Revell Color 32177. Also the AeroMaster Warbird RLM 74 Graugrun and Tamiya XF50 seem to be fine. Also the mixture Humbrol 2 x H5 + 4 x H14 + 3 x H21. But the BS 381C 633 colour isn't the correct one for the BoB time. It should be the BS 33 RAF Blue Grey rather. Actually the RAF used two blues for airfield equipment RAF Blue Grey BS381C 633 and Traffic Blue BS 381C 169. But the number of the RAF vehicles being of the colour was small for the BoB period'. The vehicles were of the desruptive camo with a khaki-green paint as the basic colour IIRC. However, if all of your colours look dark to you it may be used either the AA0850 Humbrol 077 Navy Blue or AA0878 Humbrol 79 Blue Grey. The Tamiya XF-50 Field Blue with some white and the same for the Revell 36169 Granite Grey/ RAL 7026 or the Vallejo 71.055 Black Grey RLM66. The suggested Tamiya acrylic mixture for the BS 33 RAF Blue Grey is 4 x XF69 + 3 x XF18 + 1 x XF8 + Satin varnish. To sum up .. I would say any of these paints can be, also the Hataka B145. Just add some of the white or a light blue/light blue grey colour to get it lighter.

as the lighter tones to keep the scale effect I would use these tinges ...

and two nice images showing the colour ... at the post-war time.

I saw something stating RAF did not use Austin Tillies. Theirs were Hillman or Standard . Same with Austin K2Y ambos. Yes? No? Maybe?

It seems to be true. It is very likely the Royal Air Force could only use the Austin Tilly to a very limited extent and only on a local basis. There are no photographs of Austin Tillys in service with the RAF though. Also there aren't documents that prove an order by the RAF. What is more the document from 1944 lists all vehicles of the RAF and there isn't the Austin Tilly mentioned.

And I couple of screenshots of the 633 Squadron movie .... where the Austin Tilly was "starring" as I found out. Not sure about the ambulance seen in the background but the Austin K2/Y is also possible.

Austin Tilly ...
