Hi, I'm into investigating family stories (before, during and after wwII).
My father had to work for the Germans, but there are a lot of blanks in the stories we (children) remember.

We know a story that during the 1943-1944 period my father was in Bukarest, Rumania. He worked on airplanes; the story says he was a "cylinder head specialist". I presume this has something to do with "welding" since he was into that trade. I know at the Bukarest airport there was an airplane factory before the war, but I cannot figure out at what type/make of airplanes he worked. I also know I.A.R. worked on Messersmitt B109's. Does anybody of you know more of what was going on in Rumania during the 1943-1944 period? (In summer 1944 the Russians were there already).

Thanks a lot. Marcel

Welcome Marcel! I believe one of our members - Imalko I believe - has done some research on the Rumanian AF and might help.
