Famous American ww2 duos?. ex: P51 B17 combo,,

Starting a History project and looking to do something on an American,(American History class) ww2 aircraft team. (Two aircraft that went into combat as a team, very often. ) Like the B-17 and p51d combo for the long distance bombings. I'm trying to steer clear of that particular duo,as it has been done to death. Looking for something less in "the spotlite" so to speak.
