The Fiat G-55 arrived too late and in a too small number to play a significant role in WW2; only 105 units produced.
A few have been used by Regia Aeronautica and a few more by Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana, the airforce of the Republic created in Northern Italy in late 1943 after Kingdom of Italy's surrender to the Allies in September 1943.
Camouflage scheme is the typical "German" in RLM 74/75/76 combination used in 1944/45.
Tactical markings are those belonging to 2 Gruppo Caccia - Seconda Squadriglia "Red Devils
The model has been made from the Pacific Coast Models kit in 1:32 scale.
The DB 605 engine of the aircraft comes from an Aires kit intended for Me 109, so I had to scratchbuild the engine supports and few more little details.
Machine gun are scratchbuilt with barrel coming from aftermarket.
