Found this in a 1989 Hasegawa catalog...

The chronic aptitude of leaving unfinished the preparation of a model that has been taken up. Though it is frequently considered a physical sickness, in fact it is a mental trouble, with causes lying at various places depending on the patient:
(1) Believing in absolute perfection.
(2) Lacking the tanacity to finish something begun.
(3) Lacking monetary margin (purchasing excess material, constantly switching over to new kits, beginning other hobbies at the same time - money makes a person languid).
(4) Becoming lonely and disheartened, without knowing how to recover lost confidence.
(5) Becoming over-confident and trying to realize a too difficult dream. (6) Comparing and disputing with others.
(7) Developing excessive critical nature and becoming unable to make affirmative evaluation, and so on. A veteran modeler says to all these patients "I never throw away the kit in the middle. The kit in front of me has been prepared by the devoted work of a lot of workers in a far away factory. This chance encounter must be treated seriously.
