Flight Gear

I am interested in acquiring replica flight gear and uniforms so I can join the WWII reenactors in local parades as a WWII pilot. There are always infantry units, but no aviators. Any idea in where I can find the gear?

Sir,

It can be costly to recreate flight gear, but some original gear can still be found if you look hard enough. I know a gentleman on a different form, who used Russian gear and modified it to resemble a WW I I German pilot outfit.

Good Luck

Geeze! I bought my reproduction brown leather A-2 from Sears in 1988 for $59.00. I bought two of them, just in case I wore mine out (and I just about have) as well as one for my brother and one for my Mom.

Have you considered being a tanker? Sportsman's Guide has some pretty nice looking reproduction WWII tanker jackets for about $100.

Anyway, good luck!

I guess I could be a captured German pilot for the WWII 82nd reenactors to escort during the parade.

Hamburgers were cheaper in 88 too, but did you notice that the prices of beef patties in comparison to leather have not risen equally. :?: Thanks for the suggestion, but can't really be a "tanker" since I operate a sim center, just wouldn't seem right.
