I will go back to the earlier colours - these two are way too dark.

My major problem is with the blurring of the camo line edges - I did think I had it cracked, but there is a 'step' which shows up all along the bottom edge as a black outline. I can fix it, but it is annoying and time-consuming... Oh well 'back to the drawing board' as they say... :|

Attempt No5... (slacking at work today) :)

very very impressive Clave.

~maybe Les can place a scan from Reschkes book of III./JG 301 A-8's. there is a photo of some 5-6 Fw's in a row facing right, one of them is incredibly dark, the pic from the Fall 44 period. I mention this as only for reference.

Erich, your Red 3 image do you have a similar shot from the other side? If not do you want it? Also have what appears to be Yellow 18 rear fuselage shot in a not too happy state, both from the internet. I would think that you already have them...but you may not.

sure Wayne post them both up, I have other Fw images but like I said they are all for something very special............maybe 2 volumes

Ok Guys, no probs...here they are.
Will be happy to see Vol 1 at your earliest convenience...please!

As you can see it's the same Red 3 the give away is the bent D/F loop antenna beneath the fuselage cross.

You can just make out what looks to me like a yellow 18 on the second photo.

Great work again Clave.
Widen both the Yellow and the Red bands to the right by about 15%. (an earlier post I made a mistake I should have said the LEFT side of the yellow band is about right).
Remove the mottle directly beneath the tail plane in shadow and about every second one on the tail and along the fuselage. Some of the mottle could be the dark grey also.
Darken the primary Grey along the top of the fuselage a bit more.
If we follow the standard Fw camo the front 1/3 or up to 1/2 of the darker grey on the upper cowl should be the lighter Grey violet colour, it would rise at about a 30-40 degree angle over and across the cowl. A similar reverse angle for the lt.grey would possibly appear on the rear fuselage in front of the bands above the fuselage cross and extend up the tail, rather than the dark grey. You will see what I mean from the plan view below and the side view.
Thanks for your patience!

Clave...almost there, the Dark Grey, a little darker with a slight greenish tinge, like the top view of Yellow 4.
The Lighter Grey change that you made to the nose and tail, use the other Medium Grey you were already using as mottle for this other top surface colour. On my screen it looks very light, probably too light, compared to both mottle colours.
Again, a big thanks for your effort and patience.

very impressive Clave, this is going to sound weird but it really reminds me of an A-9 that replaced my cousins Weiße 2, think my cousins was............well let me post a pic for your thoughts and others this week and now back to getting grand-daughters out of my lap........merry Christmas Clave

Clave, fantastic.

This is how I would see white 2 IF it was a stock standard A-9 produced AS the various publications would have us believe, with the addition of 5 staffel markings of JG 301, in 74/75/76 camo.
However as Erich has rightly pointed out there are variations and details that we can only speculate on regarding Seigried Baers actual aircraft on that fateful day in Nov '44.
If you would indulge me/us just a bit more, another profile with the flat canopy as well as a change of the Dark Grey to profiles with Dark Green providing an alternative 83/75/76 camo and both canopy types.
Have added part of an image showing an interpretation of the Green 83.
This then provides a starting point for modelling choices.
Hmm..Which way to go?

Merry Christmas Clave!..and Erich!
