I am looking to make a purchase for the "Nose art" GB, and wanted to define the terms. I assume that it is not confined to the nose only; sides, tail, what-have you, as long as it is not an "official" marking.
And, as this is a "family friendly" site, if I find some aircraft that has objectional words or figures, will the mods censor the pictures? I am not willing to paint a black line over the figure, that would be as bad as leaving off a swastika, in my book.
Thanks for answers in advance!
Paul.

Interesting question Paul, and no problem from me.

When the subject of GB16 was announced my first thought was 'Great! Letov S.16 it is!'. Trouble is I want to do it in Latvian markings, ie big red swastikas in exact pose and right hand rotation of another (in)famous version. Decided against it incase it kicked up a stink with those unaware of it's meanings before Mr. Hitler gave it a bad name.

I think we can be liberal in the definition Paul. "Nose Art" can mean "Body Art" in my opinion. As for censorship, I had no problem posting this:

Good nakedness is allowed, as long as it is tasteful :D Please, no naked guys :O unless its a female modeler modeling it hehe :D lol

I don't have a problem with a such markings. There is obviously a difference between them and the porno we can't accept at any form here. As far as objectional words are concerned... as long as these aren't using for insulting people today and are the historycal part of expression of human's feelings these can be as well.

If started builds are allowed, will enter a present for my dad: B-17F 'The Witches Tit', from the 1:48 Revell (Monogram) kit

Another option is RNZAF TBF-1c NZ2518 'Plonky' in 1:72

Good, I have always wanted to to the B-24 "Strawberry Bitch" still no luck finding it however, might have to go for the B-17 "Bit-o-Lace"
I know I've seen 1/72 decals for "Strawberry Bitch" somewhere, and as far at 1/48. One of the boxings of the Monogram B-24D has it as an option. It's one of my unfinished projects. Got as far as glueing on the wings and realized if I did I wouldn't have a big enough shelf to display it on so it went back in the box. I have some room now so I should complete it. When I get home tonight I'll take a picture of the box for you.

Just to add my two cent's worth, I was hoping to be a bit more modern with this one and try doing the decals for a 'Tiger Meet' F/A 16A from 1998, it's out of my initial kit purchase stash. Would anybody have any objection!

Sounds good Karl, especially the Canberra. Got spare Airfix 1:72 markings if you need them (sharkmouth B(1)8)

Vic, if my opinion counts for anything, go for it!
