That's about all I know about this bird and that's from the instructions of the Eduard Fw-190A-9 kit

When I first saw the top picture I knew I had to build it. Don't really know much of the back story behind it except that above, but it is obviously a partially wrecked or salvaged aircraft at the end of the war. Any info about it would be welcomed.

Thanks George, thoes pictures should be very helpful.

Andy, at first glance it looks like the sprues also have all the parts for the A-9 version. I'll be taking a closer look when I take them out of the bags and take the pictures for the next post.

The only info in my library on this rig is in Crandall's D-9 volume 1 and it's only the same pictures you've posted plus another unhelpful one from a distance. He and others call it an A-8 (externally very similar to A-9). Some discussion on the colours here:

JG 301 A-8 "Yellow 8" at Salzwedel - Luftwaffe and Allied Air Forces Discussion Forum

Eduard instruction sheet containing this scheme is here, in case what you have is different. Also gives a clue to applicable parts in the kit:

https://www.eduard.com/store/out/media/8187.pdf

Note that it looks like Eduard didn't bother supplying a separate cowl ring to represent the slightly thicker armour for the oil cooler. Probably not that apparent visually.

Sorry Glenn i thought i had the parts left over from my Eduard kit but couldnt see them.
may have already been sent to other folks

Edit

Glenn i dont have the armoured back rest but i have a blown canopy, if you want it ?

Thanks for all the help guys. I think I'm covered for parts as you'll see below.

Here is the kit. Its a Accurate Miniatures re-boxing of the Eduard kit and an examination of the sprues shows that they are for both the A-8 and A-9 versions which is very good news. I'm going to build it using the instructions from the Eduard A-9 kit instead of those which came with the kit, so pretty much a no-brainer (I hope)

It looks to be a very nice kit with the panel lines done just right, not too deep and not too soft or faint

Here's the clear parts and as you can see there is a choice of standard canopy in either open of closed position or blown canopy in either open or closed position

You might want to read some reviews of the Eduard kit Glenn. Though I haven't built mine yet I have read that there are some fit challenges if you don't take care in carefully aligning parts.

Good stuff Glenn.

Those are the spare parts i have, as far as the kit goes you need to be careful with the engine fitting its very fiddly and way over complicated, also most of the hatches and access panels are designed to be open so dont always fit when closed up.

It doesn't look like I can, but is it possible to leave the engine out as I don't intend to display it?
Dont think so, I did think about fitting the panels around the engine then butt join them to the fuselage if i ever got another Eduard Fw 190 ?

bit like i did in post #15 on my ICM Bf 109 F-4 build
