Hopefully not long too wait. It's in the post on the way to me now. Will update once it lands.

Planning ahead to painting.

Invasion stripes will be replicated in the slap dash fashion as seen in these photos.

It needs to be remembered that these were typically designed to be a single use aircraft so I guess finishing was not perfect.

When depicting D-day as well these will have been practically new, maybe an odd training flight and small amount of weathering from sitting around the airfield, but nothing too heavy.

:thumbright: Good call. Couldn't really see doing it being done as "perfect" as those on a fighter, this being a throwaway aircraft.

Yes that's what I've found out since researching began. But it didn't occur to me until then.
It also depends on when the model you're depicting is used.
I've read that some of the Horsa's used in Op Market Garden we're recovered airframes from D-day so those would have been significantly more weathered and used.

Snautzer01 Snautzer01 thats a nice shot. At my building speed I think it would be quicker to assemble the full size one ha ha.

I'm going to do it with the loading door open. So may need to scratch some benches and other bits. Let's see how it goes.

If I hadn't heard this straight from the Hors(a)s mouth, I'd swear it was all made up... :)

Na, mine will be an Operation Market Garden bird, so to avoid monotony on this build I will do her in GB 47.

That saves my bacon and saves me being judged as the second best Horsa in this build 👍

IF I get this finished in time I'm might also do a Waco as my second entry, then follow up with a C-47 and Sterling Tugs for GB47.
