Geo , please have a look at the pics there. I know that the kite shouldn't be an example rather but the Venturi tube seems to be moved to the starboard.
But the one has it moved towards the port side ...

IMHO it doesn't matter to which side the offset is but the tube has to be off the stram of the exhaust fumes from the pipes.
