Terry, I got this because of having stiffness and cramps in my hands and more notably fingers when holding small parts to work on, sanding being one of the main drawbacks. With this tool my grip will not have to be so tight and the vibrating head hopefully will do all the work more efficiently and quickly.
On to today's work. As can be seen, cockpit walls and inst panel are done. The details are from a Quinta Studio interior 3D decal set.
Thanks for looking in guys.
Tidy work Vic. I have a dead electric toothbrush that I've meant to rip apart and get going again to see if I could make it into a sander. What holds the paper in place? Velcro?
Many thanks chaps, nice to have you pop in. Bits of work have been achieved yesterday and today in between family things.
Putting the final touches to the cockpit.
Getting ready to seal it up.
Sealed up though some work is required on the seams, the internal fixtures including the underside filters and rear wheel bay are a tight fit. Something to be sorted later.
Now to decide on how I tackle the wing panel lines. I'm thinking of assembling them and taking it from there. I have all the details, just need to sort out the best approach.
I took the plunge and stuck the wings together and to my delight the fit with the main body is perfect. So now to sort the panel lines out and I've already started masking.
Thought I'd best do a little catch-up. Have been picking away at the over the days, wings sorted with unwanted panel lines filled (hoping).
With this little guy working in the closing months of the war, an instruction came out to fit fuselage navigation lights, two on either side. The forward one is in the position as instructed by the directive but the one at the rear on all of the 357FG was placed dead centre of the fuselage star. The correct position would have been on the top corner of the rearmost bar to the national star.
