I know it looks like I haven't been doing anything but I have been picking at it along the way just not updating.....

The upper fuselage is attached and the wings together (well almost...)

Teh aft section is bing a bit of a pain, but you'll have that with a kit this old....

Large crack on the right lower section. this will probley be covered by the engine pod but I ran some thin plastic dowel in anyway.

Same issue on the right fuselage aft just about 3 inches long.

The tail is together but needs a lot of cleanup

The Lone Star kit comes with the forward cockpit but it is broken into two section. I am going to use the kit cockpit. 1) for ease and 2) for ease....

The engine intakes I have from Flying S Models require me to remove the ridge inside the engine pods for them to mount.

Oh and I forgot to mention, the panel scribing is out the window! I'll try it on something smaller like a P-51 or DO335
 
Engine working. I assembled the Flying S intakes, Chad sent me a new set as he got a new 3D printer and is increased the resolution.

I than pulled out the ResKit exhaust kit. Each is 5 separate parts.

I separated out one set. I cut the cage from the bottom and worked my way up

When each was done I stated the assembly

I glued the AB can and rings together and the aft can and "Turkey Feather) control wing together so that I had three separate sections and shot all with Mr Surfacer 1500 black.

When all is dry I"ll paint and assemble.
 
Just to be clear, This will NOT be even close to finished for Zombie build. It will be in the works for months. Anyway Here is progress on the power plants.
Alclad stainless steel in the back with Airframe aluminum and the ring cowl is polished aluminum.

Here the burner can is installed. Gunmetal outside and hot metal carbon in the inside.

They still need work. Metal finsh goes on and faults you never saw show up! AAAAWWWWWWHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
