Also worked on the cockpit adding wires and tank vent lines on the deck. I also threw in a spare R1155 underneath the top one to represent the intercom amplifiers. The filler pipe was also added and I tried Tamiya's decal seatbelt. Rather than applying it like a decal, I cut it out and glued it on. It won't survive a close-up but will do for view through the glazing I think. My supply of PE belts has run out.



Not pictured is the continuation of the Dzus clips on the engine cowls. One cowl is done but the fasteners need to be filed flatter before shooting a trial paint coat over everything.

I'm not going to get anything done after this for a week as I'll be out of town until Nov 16. I'm doubtful about finishing before Dec 7 but will give it my best shot. Thanks for looking in guys.
 
Thanks guys. A small steps was made with scratch-building the Observer's fold-down armour plate. It was cut from clear plastic sheet and the window frame was made of a piece of lead wire formed into a circle and squashed. the handle is also lead wire.



I also added the remaining seatbelts that were cut from the decal sheet. Less than ideal close up but fine when viewed through the canopy glazing.

Progress is slow but steady as I try to spend at least an hour a day at the bench now.

Thanks friends. In hind sight, I should have applied a yellow disc to the armour plate and may yet do that. In the meantime, I attended to a few other things.

Interiors were enhanced and painted. On the starboard side, the missing junction box and cables were added. Not all of the kit details are necessarily correct with regard to the extinguishers and flare racks but I didn't spend time correcting these as they won't be seen. Since the below photo was taken, I also added the kit-supplied oxygen bottle rack to the starboard wall near the nose



To fix the spinners, which are larger diameter than the resin engine cowls, I glued some stretched sprue into the convenient holes and turned them on a drill clamped into my bench vice.



My first attempt showed that there was too much flex between the prop blade cut-outs so I drilled out the back plate, inserted it into place and that stiffened up the assembly nicely. That's another item stroked off the to-do list.
