Great choice Graham - I was thinking of entering the same kit!

BTW, read there are fit issues with the cowls etc, in true Dragon style. I will have cowls open when I do mine to try and avoid that (and of course show off that engine!)

Here is a look at the kit. I built Dragons He162 and their Do335 about 25 years ago. They were great kits and had lots of detail and went together well. I had heard that Dragon had gone out of business so I was surprised to find this kit while looking for a decent F190D kit. Couldn't find one, I'd like to ad one to my collection. Looks like the same quality for sure. Has some PE bits as well.

Engine build. Lots of pieces to put together, I figure around 20, lost count at 14. The very small parts need carefull attention when removing them from the trees. The attatchment points are quite large and the plastic is a bit on the brittle side. I broke a couple of pieces. All and all it fits pretty good. One caution. The cowlings are quite thick and in order to get the exhaust stacks to protrude a pair bit of material needs to be removed from inside to thin out the cowls. On the side that's open it won't matter but I still plan to thin thin it down a bit.

Slow go here. The engine is finished. I added plug leads on the side that will be open. You can't see them. The cockpit is pretty basic but adequate since it's barely visible once in stalled. The belts are masking tape. I cut the buckles and hardware off some PE belts and glued them on. Trying to bend up PE belts to contour to the seat is just too much brain pain !
