    Yup...Flying Legends

Once again, we've just had a great, safe FL show at Duxford.

This year was slightly different in that Tony could only make the Friday before the show, and I only attended the Saturday of the airshow and went off somewhere else for the sunday.

Lots of highlights from the weekend, seeing the Blenheim in the circuit, listening to the Buchon with a pukka Daimler Benz clockwork reverse engineered under the hood, getting deafened by a '51 that for some reason was twice as loud as the other three put together in the sequence, watching Steve H put the new Hawk through its paces....the list goes on.

Tony will add his pics from the Friday...won't you mate !....and here's a few from me as a taster while I sort through the ones I took.

SHOCK...HORROR...PROBE.... !....I only took 1504 pics at FL, where as I normally am into the 5K plus figures so its not going to be as pic loaded as normal. More on this later :)

Good Lord! You are right there in the cockpit of that P-35 or P-40! And that mess of Spitfires must have been a sight to behold.

    Cheers Fella's :)

As normal, here's a few that didn't make the final edit....

Lots of dumbass excuses by me and the biggest one was not re-acquainting myself with how to drive the ruddy camera first !. I clean forgot how to alter the shutter speed and when I got that figured out, I then forgot that altering the shutter speed normally leads to other amendments to make sure the photo isn't over-exposed etc.

We should (or I should ! ) start a thread called 'Airshow Hats and Earholes !'. That's the drawback of not getting a prime spot before snapping away...and also not checking the area before panning !.

    Jeez, you'd think I would know by now !! Doh ! :)

Here's a small selection of 'snapshots' taken on the Friday afternoon. I didn't get there much before 13:30 so I'll leave Tony to fill in on all the biz that happened for that day.

Not sure about the airliner racing debut as personally I thought it a bit boring ! :)

As Friday is the normal arrivals day and late minute practice-sesh day, there looked like there had been a lot of activity throughout with the flight line filling up nicely.

It was great walking around the place, meeting up with pilots / groundcrew / buddies and so I had lots of catching up to do !

    Brill shots gary !
I was really p*ss*d off that I couldn't get there this year - both me and Mick were not fit enough to travel, let alone spend a full day or more on the airfield.

Mine was a tad poo! Given I was working in Colorado for a couple of weeks, then doing Collings, my 'pass' only allowed me to go on the Friday. It was fun though! Only a few from me as Garys are stellar

Good stuff Tony. I've yet to see 'Red 7', and hope it's at the BoB show in September. Where's she based ?

Hopefully we'll meet up at DX in September Tony.
Karl (Rochie), myself and Mick will be arriving at Fowlmere on Saturday afternoon, doing the show Sunday, then escorting Andy (Crimea River), and Jeff Hunt and his American friend around DX Monday, and we'll probably be there most, if not all of the week, visiting other air museums in Norfolk/Suffolk.
You're welcome to join us for a BBQ at the campsite.
