Here is another odd part from our stash of dug-up unknown items at the Freeman Army Airfield Museum. This one is basically cylindrical, with a sprocket near one end. It is about 6" long, and 4" in diameter. One end has a 7-pin electrical connection (center pin is a locator, I think), and the other end, down in a recess, are 3 little gear wheels, but the teeth don't intermesh. The sprocket looks like bicycle chain would run over it. The data plate is partially legible, but some digits are obliterated. Since it is both electrical and mechanical, I wonder if it is some sort of autopilot servo? Several photos are attached. I have the part here at home, so I can readily take additional pictures if necessary. ..... Thanks for your help.
