Hi all,
I am planning to build one of Gollob's mounts (1/72 scale), but instead of going with the more usual suspects, or Bf 109 F-4's, I was thinking about going with F-2's instead. But it seems that the information about his pre-F-4 mounts is quite scarce. Online, I was able to find just one drawn profile image of supposedly F-2, the 'Black 6' with 37 or so victory markings on the rudder. At the same time, the fuel triangle does show 87 octane, which IIRC would indicate F-4 ... well, it's a profile picture anyway.
Does someone know and/or have actual photos of this particular 109 F-2 'Black 6' and was it really one of Gollob's mounts in summer 1941? Or if someone knows other F-2's Gollob was flying around the summer of 1941, any details would be highly appreciated.
