Well, this is my first build where I attempted some weathering techniques. A dry pastel powder application for the gun burns and exhaust. The a pastel wash for the look of weathering for the plane. Once again the mast is a bit bent, some fogging, and the landing gear isn't perfect. But for my first attempt at weathering, I am happy. h1.jpg h2.jpg h3.jpg h4.jpg h5.jpg h6.jpg h7.jpg h8.jpg h9.jpg h10.jpg h12.jpg h13.jpg

Not bad at all Tom, well done.
Looks like Hobby Boss have possibly provided some strange roundels for a 3 Squadron aircraft of the period though (not your fault), as they would have changed to the later style by then.

Well done for a first attempt. I'm with you in that I too am just learning the weathering technique.

As long as you spray a gloss coat on the model, you are good to use pastel and screw up as much as you like...lol

    Looks good!

I like Hobbyboss models. They have descent detail and go together quickly. And they're cheap too!

I like Hobby Boss because the plastic is thick and solid, the pieces fit together nice and tight, and they are of high quality for the price.

The only big con of Hobby Boss is their lack of detail in their cockpits.

My preferred part of the build is painting so the easy build I kind of like.

I'm working on a Hobby Boss FW 190 and should have it wrapped up in a couple days.
