Was the Heinkel He 112 the Curtiss P-60 of Nazi Germany?
I don't think the P-60 is an apt comparison, the He 112 actually was used in small numbers by not only Germany, but also Romania and Spain. Besides being tested my other countries.

The closest US comparison I can come up with would be the P 35, but its development continued unlike the He 112.
Opinion's?
 
Ok I can see that, very different from prototype to the production model. But that can be said about most aircraft designed in the late 1930's that were still developed thru the 1940's. Just look at the bf 109, 3 different engine types (in production) a couple of different wings, braced vs cantilever tail plane.

If the He 112 also had a radial engine installed it would really fit the P 60
