I'm new to the forum so wanted to say hello.
Spent 42 years in defence aerospace, 21 yrs building Jaguar, Hawk, Tornado at BAe Warton, then 21 years training project management skills. Built all the Airfix kits as a child, planespotting at Blackpool airport shaped my love for aircraft.
Now researching dad's RAF Service, 3 years in. He was a Lancaster Sgt Pilot but qualified too late for the shooting war.
Current project is the development of the airfields he flew from for in flight sim (XPlane 12). 33EFTS Caron was completed last year, RAF Little Staughton 582 Squadron is nearing completion.
My aim is to fly what dad flew, where he flew it.
For each project, I make a series of video documentaries to tell the stories and honour those who served - see the links.
Looking forward to meeting you online ...
kindest regards
Neil

Welcome from Cheshire, although, like Rochie, I'm originally from the north east.
I used to visit Warton fairly regularly in the 1980's, dealing with Flight Analysis and the Photographic departments.

I was there 1978-99. Priviliged to witness the finest era of test flying, many types, great memories. Even got a ride in a Buccaneer as target for an F3 radar trial.
