That chain sprocket at the end looks like it is part of a trim tab system.

Hi,
That is a Flossenverstellspindel from a Bf109, probably F. It is a screw-jack that adjusts the incidence of the tailplane for pitch trim. It looks nice, with part of the tailplane structure but, the internal screw fitting looks missing.
