Is there any way to identify how old this propeller is or what plane it would have been used on.
I really don't know the
first thing about some of this stuff. It is 8'4" long. The hole in the
center is about 3 1/8 inches ID and it looks like it would receive a
shaft the length of 5 3/8 ". It was a little hard to read the SER number
on the the thing, but I think it is as follows: 57316
The 225HP rating (Continental R-670, Lycoming R-680, Jacobs R-755) is typical for the PT-13 Stearman, Cessna T-50, UC-78 and a variety of Waco's. There are probably others as well.
according to this link all the 100 series propellers seem to be Waco applications, but it does not list a 100A model. So I would suspect a Waco powered by a Continental R-670 radial engine. Of around 170 hp
