I'm hoping someone can help me identify what I believe to be an "intake trunk" assembly from a Douglas aircraft. I'm unable to post a picture as I'm not in possession of the assembly right now. What I can offer is what NAA would call an "Install" or assembly number. The number 5169508-403 is stamped on a metal tag that is riveted on one end of the unit. There is an hydraulic actuator in the assy about 8-10" long with cast aluminum head on each end. There is a part number cast into each one. 2067204 on one end and 2067238 on the other. These 2 part numbers may not show up in the parts book as they don't appear to be replaceable. From what I've seen in my search of some Douglas parts manuals I have access to these part numbers fit the patterns used on Douglas part numbers. I've looked in an SBD and a A-24 manual but haven't found a number match. Perhaps a C-54?
Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

That parts tag should have an inspection stamp on it and that would confirm Douglas. Ask you source to look for stamps about 4-5mm high. If DAC it will be an elongated D with a number inside. Ignore all stamps that consist of the letters H and T in any format as those are Heat Treat stamps.

As you say the parts format fits Douglas but other companies also used that format.

Thanks guys. I'll look for inspection stamp MiTasol.
