Hey,guys.
So finally bit the bullet and bought a scanner so I can now share the 40+ years of 35mm photos I have in piles and albums. So first up are these when the ship visited Boston harbor many years ago. Sorry, didn't record the date so I don't know the exact time. I do remember seeing a flight demo put by one of the chief Harrier pilots at South Weymouth Naval Airbase in Mass. Oh.man,He made that airplane dance! Never saw a Harrier fly like that before or since. Please remember these are film shots and I did clean them up as best I could...
Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing, images like this are more rare than most people think.

I believe it was 20-25th June 1990, after the ship put into Boston on completion of joint ASW exercises with the RCN (Operation Marcot)

Thanks! I won't stand a chance to find that date myself. I do remember waiting in line for a very long time.

Definitely before May 1999, as she still has her Sea Dart launcher on the bow (mostly obscured by the ramp, part of the deflector can be seen in pic 049 and part of the missiles in pic 048).

In May 1999 she put into Rosyth for refitting, which included the removal of the Sea Dart surface-to-air missiles and covering over of the foredeck to allow for an enlarged deck park for aircraft.
