At work, we have a requirement that any cabling have tags on each end indicating where its supposed to connect and what it goes to on the other end.

Heh. We tagged cables in the Navy, too....wish my current employer believed in that. I've started doing it, when I have to add a cable (or trace one out), but its a loooooong process.
